THE LOWER EAST SIDE LOW DOWN

THE LOWER EAST SIDE LOW DOWN

2008, a huge year in pop-culture history. The release of the eagerly-anticipated Sex & The City feature-film (the question on our lips, does Carrie end up with Big?) — Miley Cyrus, a 15 year-old pop sensation debuts a rather risqué magazine cover for Vanity Fair shot by none other than Anne Lebovitz; The final installation of High School Musical had our hearts breaking witnessing the rise and fall of Troy and Gabriella’s relationship on and off the screen — One particular moment in 2008 that I remember correctly was my Tumblr-driven obsession for discovering underground artists, particularly Santigold’s L.E.S. Artistes. Almost 10 years later, that’s what drove me down to the Lower East Side of New York. Quite possibly, my favourite place in the entire city.
